UNL's chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers hosted the "Midcontinent" regional competition, April 19-21 in Lincoln. This event gathered civil engineering students to practice and compete in areas they study for future careers in the design, construction and maintenance of physical and naturally built environments, including concrete bowling, concrete canoe, and bridge-building.

Dr. Yong-Rak Kim and his graduate students enjoy working on geomaterials and roadway mixtures that are key elements of civil engineering transportation infrastructure.
Megan Seymour, a graduate student, spent her summer working at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Risk Management Research Laboratory in Ada, Oklahoma. She investigated the environmental impact of engineered nanomaterials in groundwater.

Civil Engineering Chair Search
The UNL Department of Civil Engineering invites applications for Department Chair. We are seeking an outstanding leader as the department and the UNL College of Engineering embark on an exciting period of transformation and growth.
The Civil Engineering Department administers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees for the state of Nebraska. Over the last 15 years, students in the College of Engineering have awarded us the J.E. Lagerstrom Outstanding Department Award seven times.
The B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
